Many times, clients will contact us to do a website for them. They have a logo and that’s about it. Maybe they took a picture of their work, but when you ask them to provide write ups for each page, they stop dead in their tracks and that can be a deal breaker.
Why Do I Have to Have Text for My Website?
Even we, as humans, are drawn to pictures, pictures cannot tell your whole story. Each page on your site needs to have at least 3 paragraphs of text/copy. If not, then Google doesn’t know anything and the potential client doesn’t either.
Can I Just Get Text from Someone Else’s Website?
If you want to get sued, go for it. It’s a copyright violation and you can get caught. Some law firms make their living searching for sites that use other sites images and text. If Google finds two sites with the same copy, the one that is newest can possibly get blacklisted.
